About ADNL
The Abu Dhabi Netball League is a non profit organisation which was set up so that women across Abu Dhabi could enjoy playing regular netball.
The League is currently enjoying a period of expansion. In the 2008 - 2009 season, 16 teams took part in 2 Leagues. The current A League Champions are Al Jaber, and the current B League Champions are DeVere.
It was great to welcome so many new faces to ADNL in 2008. For this season there will be 24 teams taking part in 3 leagues.
Match nights for the 2009 - 2010 season are on Tuesday evenings from 7.00pm until 9.40. There are 4 rounds of matches; 1) 7.00 - 7.40, 2) 7.45- 8.30, 3) 8.35 - 9.15 & 4) 9.20 - 10.00. As well as this, each team is required to provide an umpire for a weekly match.
The Abu Dhabi Netball League also hosts a number of fantastic socials throughout the year. At the end of the season a Summer Ball is held in order to present the league winners with their prizes. The theme for last years ball was James Bond. (see pictures from the Ball in the Photo's section)
The Committee
The ADNL Committee is made up of volunteer league members.
Each team is required to have two people to represent them and at least one person from each team should attend meetings held throughout the year. The information given in these meetings should then be relayed to the team members.
More details about this years committee will follow.
The Constitution
The constitution is the document that lays out the rules for the operation of our club and it spells out the name and purpose of The Abu Dhabi Netball League (ADNL)
It also establishes the method of management of the organisation, and established the guidelines for implementing the decisions of the ADNL.
It also sets out the working relationship of the organization between its officers, memberships and other groups or parties with which it is affiliated.
Changes to the constitution can only be made at an AGM meeting and must be voted on.
